What are you trying to do?

This video https://www.campbellsci.com/videos/sdi12-sensors-transparent-mode shows how to use the Terminal Emulator to communicate with an SDI-12 sensor. 

This one https://www.campbellsci.com/videos/sdi12-sensors-watch-or-sniffer-mode shows how to use the Watch command through the terminal emulator.
