Hi, I’m currently setting up a CR1000X series datalogger for a remote weather station in Western Australia. I am having some trouble configuring the cellular modem for consistent data transmission over the local network. Does anyone have advice on the best APN settings for high-reliability uploads in remote areas, or should I look into satellite telemetry instead for this specific site?
I don't want to be trivial, but your cell phone provider has to tell you the APN. If you have the same operator or use the same SIM card on your cell phone, do you have coverage? Do you have a signal? If you surf the Internet, you can use the same APN. Unfortunately, I don't know exactly how the cell phone network works in Australia.
