Traffic on RS232 port of CR1000/3000

dwind May 22, 2017 10:20 AM

Hello,

I have a GPRS modem (model: Symmonet of Symmetron) connected on the RS232 port of a CR1000 /CR3000. The modem acts as a remote RS232 port.

The problem is, as explained by the manufacturer that tried the debugging, that there is seen traffic on the RS232 port , as if the logger tries to connect to a device. This causes the modem to reset (every some seconds) and communication fails.

Thank you for any help.

Daniel

Things that would cause traffic are:

PPP enabled (it is disabled by default)

Beacon or Verify interval set on ComRS232 (both off by default)

Code in your program using the RS232 port

Thanx a lot for your time. Solved. It was the PPP enabled in the data logger
