NL100 settings for ftp / udp

MikeNIWANZ May 10, 2013 06:20 AM

Hi, I have a CR1000 connected with CSI/O via NL100 to intranet and no problem connecting to this via loggernet via default port 6785 with NL100 settings as below and logger settings below that.

However I have following problems with other forms of network comms

1/ if I try to ftp to the logger I cannot connect.

2/ the logger OS25 is doing UDP limited subnet broadcast as below but this does not seem to be getting out there.

Const WXPort = 7088
Socket1=UDPOpen ("255.255.255.255",WXPort,BroadcastLen)
SerialOut(Socket1,OutstringNet,"",0,0)

A similar set-up using a NL115 with a CR3000 seems to work all fine but operational site is using NL100 so would like to solve. Ideas appreciated.

TCP/IP Info

I am afraid that you cannot use any of the loggers TCP/IP functionality when connected via an NL100. That interface (now obsolete) only supported either terminal server, or pakbus connectivity to the logger. It does not pass raw TCP/IP/UDP traffic between the logger and the network.

You either need an NL115, NL120 or NL200 interface with the logger to use the loggers IP functionality (or a GPRS connection).

Greetings

Is this still true or has some changes been done to the OS to allow the functionality of TCP/IP to be used while connecting NL121 ?

The datalogger must be using OS28 or newer to use a NL116 or NL121.
