can I put two different SDI-12 sensor types on one control port?

I have a situation where I have multiple CS655 Soil Moisture probes on one control port on a cr1000.  This works well with specific addressing of the moisture probes.  I do not have any other control ports open on the cr1000 because they are being used for communicating to rs232 sensors.  I would like to add an SR50A sensor to the station and am wondering if it would be possible to add it to the same control port as the cs655 sensors and just give it a different address from the existing sensors?

Hi. Yes, this is perfectly possible. As long as each SDI-12 sensor has its own address, then they can be all on the same port, even if they are different sensor types.

Just make sure the combined cable length of the SDI-12 sensors is not excessive. I.e. < 600m total
