Campbell Scientific, Inc. provides reliable environmental monitoring instruments across a range of sectors including agriculture, research, meteorology, hydrology, industrial, and mining. These instruments utilise data loggers and sensors to provide critical data in harsh, remote environments, including flood warning systems and remote meteorological stations.

CSA is growing and we would like to appoint a Senior Application Specialist, with Environmental, Industrial or related instrumentation experience to provide technical support to our key clients. Learn more about what we do in our video

ABOUT THE ROLE

This position reports to the Applications Engineering Manager who is a well-respected manager with considerable knowledge and experience in the sector.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Providing pre and post-sales support and advice on CSA and related products in a wide range of applications.
  • Working with existing and new clients to identify and specify their requirements to provide solutions providing technical input into the instrument selection.
  • Working closely with CSA staff in the planning and implementation of these solutions.
  • Working with our clients to provide instrumentation and related software & programming solutions.
  • Providing high level programming services to meet CSA's client requirements.
  • Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of communication protocols with a focus on IOT protocols and MQTT implementation.
  • Assisting Project Managers to help deliver projects are delivered on time and to budget.
  • Mentoring and supporting junior Application Engineers.

YOUR EXPERIENCE

To be successful in this role, you will require experience working in the Environmental, Industrial or related instrumentation sector and have ideally worked with environmental instrumentation clients.

  • Demonstrated technical experience in the fields of Environmental, Industrial or a related instrumentation field.
  • Using these skills, be comfortable in providing system design, pre and post sales technical support and appropriate instrumentation advice for new and existing clients.
  • A base level understanding of communications protocols, including ethernet connections, serial communications, PPP connections, internet protocols and satellite/radio/GPRS/other communications technologies.
  • Write complex instrumentation programs as part of sold consultancy time.
  • A client-centric focus where recommending fit for purpose instrumentation and delivering value are a consistent priority.
  • A problem-solving and proactive "can do" attitude.
