Campbell Scientific Australia, working with the Department of Transport and Main Roads, have developed a new Road Flood Monitoring System (RFMS) that provides data seamlessly into the STREAMS Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) software platform used by the Queensland Government Road Agency. Our STREAMS integrated systems provide Traffic Management Centres running the Transmax STREAMS ITS software platform with real-time critical environmental data necessary to inform road users of potentially hazardous driving conditions.

Campbell Scientific understands that no two monitoring sites are ever the same, so our systems are fully customisable to provide as little or as much environmental data as the site requires. Our RFMS systems offer the most comprehensive range of environmental monitoring options for the STREAMS software platform of any RFMS available, and every system is designed with the future in mind, providing the capability to expand systems at minimal cost as your road network and environmental monitoring requirements change over time.

With a STREAMS integrated RFMS, structures and maintenance programs for road assets such as bridges can be optimised. Real-time monitoring of receding water levels provides the data necessary to ensure that post flood structural inspections only occur once site conditions allow for proper inspection of bridge abutments. This will save road authorities time and money on engineering resources, and allow bridges to be reopened to traffic in a timely manner to minimise inconvenience to commuters.

At the heart of every RFMS is a Campbell Scientific datalogger, world renowned for their quality, reliability, flexibility and longevity in even the most demanding of applications. This combined with an unprecedented array of world class sensors to choose from and our industry renowned pre and post sales technical support makes Campbell Scientific the only choice when you require STREAMS integrated environmental monitoring solutions for your road network.
