Sonic Ranging Sensor
The SR50A was specifically designed to meet the strict requirements of snow depth measurement, so it is ideal for many different applications. Using SDI-12 protocol, the SR50A supports various commands which are entered as options in the SDI-12 recorder instruction. Users have the ability to output the distance to target in meters or feet, or to include measurement quality numbers.
Features
The SR50A Sonic Ranging Sensor allows you to measure distance from the sensor to a chosen target. Common applications for the SR50A include measuring water level and snow depth but can be used for various other applications. The sensor is based around an electronic transducer that measures the distance to a target by sending out ultrasonic pulses and determining the time it takes for the echoes to return.
